1967 Honda CB77 Super Hawk - Restoration - Part 6

1967 Honda CB77 Super Hawk - Restoration - Part 6

The kids and I gave the Super Hawk’s electrical system a once-over and discovered that I goofed when I assembled this motor a couple years back. Unfortunately that meant that the motor had to go back on the bench and I got to tear down the top end. Fortunately though, this lead to the discovery that I had made another mistake. Not only was the cam chain off by a couple of teeth, the points cam (not the camshaft itself) had been installed 180 degrees off. Oh well, no damage was done and I got to hone my camshaft removal and installation skills. We’re waiting on a new gasket kit and then the motor can go back together and go back in the bike.
