African Union Peacekeepers in Somalia defend Kenyan intervention against Islamist al-Shabaab

A spokesman for the African Union Mission In Somalia (AMISOM) has condemned the deadly attack on the Westgate shopping mall in the Kenyan capital Nairobi last weekend. The deadly siege which has claimed at least 62 lives has been claimed by al-Shabaab, a Somalia-based Islamist militant group allied with al-Qaeda.
