China conducts air defence drills in the Western Pacific as North Korea tensions escalate

The Chinese Air Force conducted air drills over the Bashi Channel between Taiwan and the Philippines, and the Miyako Strait near the Japanese island of Okinawa as the likelihood of US-North Korea conflict increases. The ‘island encirclement’ patrols made over Taiwan appear as a warning that Beijing will not tolerate secession movements.
