See note below* ============================================ Koninginnedag 2009 April 30. ended in a country mourning because of an attack on the Dutch Royal family. Although the attack failed in the sence that the Family itself was not hurt, many innocent spectators got hurt. At least 5 people didn't survive a brutal attack, by a man who really did a LOW terrible deed. There cannot be any excuse to justify this. There are many videos with the incident circulating on the internet, so we won't repeat that. We want to show how chearfull almost everyone was prior to the attack. This number was filmed just shortly before the event happened elsewhere in the country. (This was filmed in Amstelveen, the attack was Apeldoorn) One idiot can destroy a happy day and turn a national party into a catastrophy in just a few seconds. A wish the band understandable forfilled. It was the only right decision that could be made. All the band members went home feeling sad and lowdown. A day that should have been a party ended with a country mourning. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families and also with our Dutch Royal family. They must be in chock. =========================================== *Note : This video is just a personal memory of a day that will be in the minds of many people forever. If you compare this video to what happened on another location maybe it can be felt ironic. Well, I guess it IS ironic. Still there is a strong connection since the happy feelings of this video were destroyed all of a sudden by the other event. This collection of videos started out as a way to promote the band. After a few years now, however, they have grown into something more. In a way they tell a story. In my mind there was certainly doubt whether this video should be included in this series or not. In fact the doubt is still there at this very moment of this writing! The point of course is, this video would have been included if the Apeldoorn incident had not taken place. Not everyone would have liked this maybe for artistic reasons or otherwise but I guess nobody would have objected. But all of a sudden the collective mind of a country has totally other feelings in connection to this date. I just want to keep the memory there. But I don't want to see the other pictures again, never! Yes, it is ironic!................................................... Some people don't like this video, I want you to know that I can understand that!
