When to File an Insurance Claim after Storm Damage

Jared here from John Peters Roofing! With all the storms coming through lately I wanted to touch on the timeline for filing an insurance claim or having your roof inspected. In my opinion, anytime an event occurs where you could have damage, it’s always best to have your roof inspected. I say that because most insurance companies give you 12-24 months after the time of damage to file a claim. If you wait too long, your insurance company isn’t going to insure you for that claim. Especially as your roof gets older, it becomes more susceptible to hail and wind, so it’s always a good idea to have it looked at and ensure you didn’t receive any damage.
