Are You Eagerly Awaiting the Return of Jesus? #preacherjoeinmississippi Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am. John 14:1-3 Jesus promised His disciples (including all believers and followers of Christ that have ever lived) that He was going to prepare a place for them and that He would return one day to get all the believers and take us to heaven so that we could be with Him. Now let's take a look at what Philippians 3:20-21 says, "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body." These scriptures say that we should be eagerly awaiting the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Are most Christians really eagerly awaiting the return of Jesus Christ? That's the question that I've been asking myself and meditating on. It's sad to think that some Christians are not ready for His return. That's mainly because they're distracted by worldly passions and pursuits instead of focusing on God and spiritual matters. If someone told them that Jesus was coming tomorrow, a lot of them would cry out, "Oh no Lord, I'm not ready." They would frantically run around trying to accomplish the things they'd been meaning to do. They would be thinking things such as I just got that job promotion I've been working so hard for, my wife and I are on our honeymoon, I still haven't asked out the girl down the street, my kid graduates next year, or worst of all, am I and the people I love truly saved? To be honest, this wicked world needs a reset button and Jesus is that reset button. He is coming to make everything better and to restore things to God's original creation plan, which is God and us walking in perfect fellowship in the garden of Eden. There will be no more tears, no more death or mourning or crying or pain (Rev. 21:4), for He will make all things new. We will have perfect new bodies and the world around us will be perfect, too. If we aren't eagerly awaiting and ready for Jesus' return, well, in my opinion, that isn't much hope at all. Jesus' last words recorded in Scripture are, "Yes, I am coming soon" (Rev. 22:20). I hope that we all prepare ourselves for the blessed hope of the return of Jesus Christ and that we eagerly await His arrival with arms open wide. ❤️🙏😇
