Something is just not meant to be. I had hoped to get at least something for Xezat on big bro account, and then there is not even a LD. As I hopped onto baby account, the first gem draw got me his BT. At the end of the day, LD is the hardest thing for me to get again, just as the tales of Cloud LD foretold. I guess I will have to "lend myself" Xezat if I go for Papalymo BT. I have mainly tried two party set for this quest. One is with more off-turn characters with Kadaj/Xezat/Leon. The other one is this one with Jack G as the main star. Again I am avoiding Rufus on purpose. RE-Shinryu Orb conditions: (limit: 10; 20 if coop) +1: hitting target elemental weakness +1: when player deal at least 9999 BRV dmg -2: Field turns Force: 0%: 90% BRV dmg taken reduction FA: Aeroga (AOE BRV+HP) This attack also reduces the duration of buffs on anyone that is hit by 1T HP Thresholds: 80/50%: "Accumulating tremendous amount of power" BRV/HP dmg up BRV/HP dmg taken down heal 80% of HP dmg taken upon taking HP dmg This state can be removed if the player has inflicted 9999 BRV dmg once General Approach: The only thing dangerous about this boss is the orb. You get pretty much net 0 if you fulfil all conditions on-turn, so if they move, you are on a net loss of 2 count. Luckily, the conditions are not limited to on-turn interactions, so you can lay down traps and other kinds of off-turn triggers to uptick the orb. Fujin's kamatachi was used here. Note that the boss is quite fast, so try your best not to give them turns to move if you are not relying on counters and what not. As expected, whenever there is a rainbow BRV dmg character, there are mechanics that would kill your BRV dmg. This time it is the permanent 0% force effect that reduces BRV dmg by 90%. If you have Xezat, BT early would be a comfortable way of dealing with this, especially when you have party enchant in place (note that Xezat himself does not party enchant, he merely true enchant himself and lay down universal elemental imperils). If not, bring out your enchanters, get rainbow BRV buffers or someone that can deal rainbow BRV dmg like Cor or Neon. The boss FA is not dangerous at all. You can face tank it in any way you like. Even if you get broken, you are not going to die. The buff duration decrease can be annoying though, particularly if you have Xezat, whose buffs mostly start at 4T. Regarding Xezat: Funny enough, the first thing I predicted about him is that he would have a buff duration issue, and I was quite right about that. Both his S1/S2 and EX buffs start at 4T. If you have to BT within those 4T, most likely his EX buff would drop. Just remember that his follow-up come from his S1/S2 while the enchant/stat buffs come from EX. If you have to let one go, make sure you know dropping which one would not lead to tears. It is almost like buff duration is a curse for the Dawn Warriors, except for Galuf probably. The major gimmick about Xezat is that his BT gives every one hitting elemental weakness rainbow BRV dmg while laying down universal elemental imperils. At the same time, depending on how many unique elemental weakness you are hitting, said party member would get 5% x N amount of dmg as additional HP dmg. This straight up just scales with the dmg dumps, so it is very desirable to hit as many elemental weakness to get an overall HP dmg increase. The thing is, Xezat himself does not enchant anyone else. Therefore how you bring in the enchants in addition to his existence is the difficulty of using him. Alisaie LDCA buffs the call carrier with "Fire/Thunder/Wind/Earth" at the same time. So that's a 4 in 1 deal, which is very quick way to gain 20% of free dmg. I have brought in Minwu LDCA and Rydia (LD)CA in this case as well, so Jack G is getting 30%* extra HP dmg (from 6 types of enchant: Fire/Thunder/Water/Wind/Earth/Holy) on top of the amount induced by his own -BRV mechanic. You can see his big punches had an extra 2m on top of the base 9.99m. So in a sense, it is a way for you to get around the 999,999 hard cap. I goofed and used Rydia LDCA instead of CA, so there is only 25%. This is certainly one of the trends that have been going on. The case in point would be Weiss, Arciela, Xezat and the upcoming Papalymo. These are all party wide characters that are scaling with the total dump instead of your max HP dmg cap like Leo. You can get these extra % dmg increase on top of other total dmg increaser. For example, Fujin here has an extra 20% wall splat dmg increase on top of that total dmg the party has gained from Xezat. Had Jack G not put the last boss at 1%, that last S2 would be well over 100m. Another point to consider is that, you may have to rely on true enchant for characters with multiple existing elements. I thought about Faris + Lulu LDCA + Leon BT at first, but opted for Jack G for stacking additional HP dmg just for fun. Once again, we find value in Lulu LDCA.
