Completing the main storyline of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, we found out that Abstergo, now under the pretext of her subsidiary, Abstergo Entertainment, is trying to locate bodies of the so-called "Sages", a manifestation of the Precursor race in human bodies that occur with every generation, in order to replicate the Precursor race genome. Stepping into the shoes of an unknown modern-day Assassin recruit, we find ourselves in the search of the next Sage. Assassin's Creed: Unity finds us following Arno Victor Dorian, an Assassin living during the age of the French Revolution and Napoleon's French Empire, who ran into a Sage during this time period. What he doesn't know is, that this particular Sage is going to be his main enemy in the end. After losing his father and being raised by Francois De la Serre's family, Arno must use his inherited abilities to find redemption and hopefully find love with Elise. In Part 31, after being expelled from the Assassin Order by the Assassin Council, Arno returns to Versailles and spirals down into his old habits, getting drunk and causing trouble. Losing his father's watch again, Arno tracks back his movements from the night before, until he retrieves it. But the person who returns his father's watch is none other than Elise, who returned in search of Arno, needing his help to finally assassinate Germain and his remaining accomplice: one Maximilien Robespierre. But, before he returns to Paris, Arno has to deal with one more remaining target in Versailles: Aloys La Touche, who controls the Revolunationaries in that district.
