Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh apologizes to Vivek Doval; Defamation case closes

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has apologized for slander against Vivek Doval who is the son of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. While tendering an apology Congress leader said comments against Vivek Doval were made in the heat of the moment and he stated that he should have verified the facts before hand. Vivek Doval has accepted his apology and the defamation case that was filed in Delhi last year has now closed while the case against Caravan magazine and its journalist continues. Vivek Doval speaks to media and states that the defamatory statements made against him and his family were baseless and were made in order to defame them for narrow political reasons.
