Tatil Employees Protest For Salary Increase

Employees of Tatil Insurance Company staged a lunchtime protest at their Head Office on Maraval Road, agitating for increased wages. Under the blazing sun, more than a dozen employees of Tatil chanted and marched with placards demanding that the company keep a promise to bring their salaries on par with market rates. Shop steward for Tatil BIGWU Branch, Nicole Owen-Hamilton, said the company has been declaring profits over the past five years, but these are not trickled down to the general staff. Tatil boasts of an asset base that doubled within the last five years to over $2 billion.
