The water quality is very poor due to 3 sewage outlets located just offshore, swimming is not advisable especially for young and old people. They have an ongoing problem with trash on the beach, left behind by locals and tourists alike. I really think the authorities should take a more pro active role and have cleaners on the beach all day long sweeping for trash and metal objects. Aside from the above issues if you just want to sit in a sun lounger and guzzle a handful of beers in the sun it is fine for that purpose, make sure to wear shades and headphones to deter the beach hawkers.
