Bundestag: Majority votes in favor of "marriage for all"

On Friday, June 30, 2017 (244th session), the Bundestag, in a roll-call vote, adopted a bill from the Bundesrat (Federal Council) introducing the right to marriage for same-sex couples in its original form, with 393 votes in favor, 226 against, and four abstentions. The current agenda had previously been amended to include this item by a majority vote of the SPD, The Left Party, and Alliance 90/The Greens.
