Covenant School parents calling for mental health support, gun reform ahead of special session

Covenant School parents in Nashville are taking new steps in curbing gun violence. This comes nearly four months after a shooter killed six people at the private Christian school, including three children. Parents have created two new nonprofits: Covenant Families for Brighter Tomorrows and Covenant Families Action Fund. The brighter tomorrows organization aims to provide education on the impact and prevention of school shootings as well as how to improve mental health support. The action fund is a nonprofit to drive legislative change related to school safety. The Covenant Families Action Fund is a group of about 60 parents focused on three main issues: School safety Mental health outcomes Gun reform They hope they can help spare other families from tragedy by sharing their story and working toward change.
