(2 Mar 2021) Ivory Coast launched its vaccination campaign against COVID-19 on Monday, just a few days after receiving a shipment of AstraZeneca vaccines through the COVAX initiative. Members of UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO) attended an event on Monday in city of Abidjan as the first phase of the country's vaccination programme got underway. COVAX is a global public-private initiative the World Health Organization (WHO) helped create for equitable vaccine distribution. The organization and its partners delivered its first doses last week to some African countries.
