Snowy mountains 4x4 Can you camp for free near ski resorts?

I went to the #snowy #mountains / #Kosciuszko national park to see if I could still remember how to #snowboard... It turns out I can't. I used to be a #snowboarding instructor when I was a teenager, and haven't had much time to return to the slopes since then. As it happens, it's not like riding a bike... My ability has deteriorated like a paraplaegics leg muscles, and the result is I'm rubbish at it. Regardless of this, there are plenty of wild #camping spots if your car is... um... capable of driving to them. (around manmade obstacles). There are some free (crowded) campsites such as Island Bend, but I prefer to avoid these. There's also limited phone signal there. Exploring the side tracks and roads often yields nice surprise wild campsites, and if you drive to the other side of the valley, there are many, many more. (also around #Thredbo). As with everything, the non-publicised (secret) places are better than the stuff you can find on google maps. Get out there and explore, and you'll be thankful that you did.
