Selokan Mataram is an irrigation canal that connects the Progo River in the west with the Opak River in the east, bisecting the Yogyakarta region and beyond. It was built during the Japanese occupation of Indonesia in 1942 and completed in 1944. Its purpose was to increase food production by providing irrigation water to rice fields in the region. This road is Jalan Selokan Mataram, but later became known as Jalur Happy Luna Maya. Luna Maya is a famous artist in Indonesia. Some time ago Luna Maya had cycled through this route. Until this path is known as the Jalur Happy Luna Maya.
