As in previous Far Cry games, players use homemade weapons, vehicles, and the new "Fangs for Hire" system called Amigos to overthrow the oppressive government. Thanks to Ubisoft, I now have Far Cry 6! The game is set on the imaginary Caribbean island of Yara, where "El Presidente" Antón Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito) is bringing up his son Diego (Anthony Gonzalez) to be the next dictator. The player assumes the character of local Yaran Dani Rojas, a former member of the Yaran military who is now a freedom fighter trying to bring back their country to its former glory. At the beginning of the game, the player can choose the gender of Dani. The setting of Far Cry 6 is the fictitious Caribbean island of Yara, which is touted as "the largest Far Cry playground to date" and "a tropical paradise locked in time." Yara was inspired by Cuba. Giancarlo Esposito's fascist tyrant "El Presidente" Antón Castillo, who has total authority over the island, is in charge. Castillo is encouraging his uncertain son Diego (Anthony Gonzalez) to follow in his father's footsteps. As a leader "trying to empower the people to see that they need strong leadership now," Esposito's character gets caught in the midst of a revolution but still tries to influence the populace. "His father was a tyrant before him, and he wants to empower the people to take back their nation," Esposito continued. His objective is to employ domestic resources to help the nation thrive without letting outsiders take their scientists, intellectual property, or other valuable assets. Antón is attempting to "empower his son to take up his mantle and genuinely embrace things that would allow him to recognize that soon he would probably be the future leader in this country," according to Esposito.
