It’s Day 2 of our Oregon adventure @gayathrirajan_pvy @GUzhagam and today we’re heading all the way to Crater Lake National Park — one of the most beautiful and iconic natural wonders in the state. After a scenic drive through winding forest roads and mountain views, our first stop inside the park was Merriam Point. This was our very first glimpse of Crater Lake, and honestly, that deep blue color left us speechless. It’s so clear and calm that it almost doesn’t look real. Next, we headed to the Rim Village Information Center, where we learned a little about how this lake was formed by a collapsed volcano thousands of years ago. Standing there, looking out from the rim, it felt like we were on the edge of something truly magical. Our journey continued with a quick stop at Vidae Falls, a charming roadside waterfall that’s perfect for photos and a short break. The water was rushing down beautifully against the rocks, surrounded by lush greenery. Then we explored the Sun Notch Trail, a short but rewarding hike. From there we got to see the famous Phantom Ship, a natural rock formation that looks just like a ghost ship sailing across the blue water. It was such a unique sight. The final highlight of our day was the Watchman Observation Station. This viewpoint is a bit higher up, and from here we had sweeping panoramic views of the entire lake. The setting sun painted the sky with warm colors, making the lake glow even more. It was the perfect way to end our day inside the park. After a long day filled with breathtaking sights and peaceful moments, we drove to our Airbnb in Stayton to rest and recharge for Day 3 of our trip.
