Here, it was mostly because I went with a theory all along the end and the show decided to not choose and let us discover the answer in the next episode. For me, Eleven saved Will but not before he said about where to find Max, so Vecna sent the Demos. But they got killed so Vecna understood Max and Holly were about to escape, no ? My theory : Vecna is present at the very end and between stopping Holly or Max, he's gonna keep his vessel. We had a lot of answers in this episode which can help to resolve things in the next and last two episodes : the wormhole explanation for the Upside Down (not sure the most rigorists fans are gonna love it), Henry killing a guy at such a young age and surely discovering the scientific thing which began all of that mess… And we FINALLY have a conclusion for Nancy and Jonathan, who understood they are not truly themselves when they are together, that their relationship is based on sharing the same trauma… so no, let's not stay together and even less marry each other to repair it. And I love even more that they exploded the love triangle situation, I was so tired of it. I'm still french, so I'm still sorry if my english hurts you.
