I want you to achieve all your goals and have procrastination be something that doesn’t define who you are anymore. That’s why I made this video, largely from stories of my own life. On how I struggled with procrastination and procrastination was something I knew all too well. However, as I changed my mind set, I stopped procrastinating as much. I’ve also have realized that we know all that we need to know when it comes to procrastinating and achieving our goals, it’s likely that we just need to hear it in a different way, maybe in a way that is going to seep into your subconscious mind and arm you with the necessary tools to fight the situations where you're procrastinating and not achieve your goals Here are the 5 ways on how to stop procrastinating and achieve your goals… 1. It’s Not a Shark: Here we discuss one of the bizarre findings that was a cause of my procrastination, and maybe a source of your procrastinating. It deals with time. You probably feel if you have more time to do something that you will make it better and wouldn’t stress as much, but not according to Parkinson’s Law, which states that a goal or task swells in perceived difficulty the longer you give yourself to complete it. The take away here is by giving yourself less time to complete something, the task is perceived to be less difficult, when something is perceived to be less difficult the less likely you’ll procrastinate and the more likely you’ll achieve your goals 2. Set the Scene: I explain implementation intention in a different way. Basically, what’s draining to your willpower and a big source of procrastinating is deciding on doing something, not actually doing it itself. Here I give some examples on how I just decide to set the scene, by doing so, it tricks me into by passing the willpower drain of deciding and takes me right into action. This might be the most powerful of the 5 ways on how to stop procrastinating. Check it out for yourself! 3. Observe Yourself: This tip is one I have used this past week, and one that I was using right before I started filming this video. It has helped me stop procrastinating and achieve my goals. It may seem odd at first, but when you’re observing your behavior and bring it up to yourself in a non-judgemental way, it will help you realize that your procrastinating is likely not in line with how you see yourself, this will cause you to act and achieve your goals 4. Say You Want To: This sounds so simple, yet it’s powerful on stopping you from procrastinating. When you say you want to do something, your mind will come up with reasons for why you said that. I did that with studying, all of a sudden my attitude for school changed and procrastination was a thing of the past for me. 5. Every action has a consolation prize: Could that why you find yourself procrastinating and not achieving your goals, a feeling of going for something and coming out empty handed? I believe once you start looking at every action that you take as a win-win scenario, you won’t procrastinate. Once you look at mistakes and temporary defeat as a consolation prize(a learning experience) you’ll likely take the necessary action, even when you don’t feel like, and stop struggling when it comes to procrastinating and you will start achieving your goals!
