Epic Universe Construction Update: Event Building Plans, Fireworks Show Progress & More

There’s a lot happening right now at Universal Epic Universe, and the latest permits and construction updates reveal that Universal is already planning the park’s next phase of growth. First, new permits show that Universal is moving forward with a major multi-purpose event space near Celestial Park. The building is expected to be about 53,000 square feet and cost roughly $20 million, capable of hosting events for over 1,200 guests while also housing offices and support facilities for park operations. At the same time, construction is continuing on permanent fireworks launch sites, which could support a future nighttime spectacular rumored to be called Celestial Goodnight. Another interesting development involves land work happening behind the Wizarding World area, potentially tied to future expansion plans, including a large new attraction building. And perhaps the biggest news: the district responsible for transportation infrastructure has selected The Boring Company, founded by Elon Musk, as the preferred partner to develop a loop-style transit system that could connect Epic Universe to Universal CityWalk Orlando and the rest of Universal Orlando Resort.
