Premier Daniel Andrews says he can provide no guarantees he won’t make another snap lockdown decision, should a future outbreak occur. Victoria will exit its statewide lockdown from 11:59pm Wednesday after five days of restrictions due to an outbreak linked to the Holiday Inn quarantine facility. “I'm not prepared to pretend with the Victorian community that this is over ... there can be some notice period but we don't get the luxury of giving people a month's notice,” Mr Andrews said. “I'm just not in the business of ignoring advice ... of shopping around for the advice that suits me. The only thing that suits all of us is to keep control of this. “There is pain and difficulty and we've acknowledged that and we will make announcements in good time about support for those who are doing it tough, but the urgent nature and the rapid nature of these decisions speaks to the rapid infectivity of this virus and nothing more than that".
