Japan has the highest density of vending machines on the planet. I remember reading up about it and they estimate there are about 5.5 million scattered around the country. Japanese vending machines provide free refreshments during times of emergencies such as a major earthquake or tsunami. They contain backup batteries or generators so that they can continue to operate during a power outage. Virtually all vending machines have trashcans next to them as companies wants to be environmentally responsible. Most people finish their drinks at the machine because you can't drink on the trains. Machine selling alcohol and cigarettes require a special age verified ID for the machine to work. The amount of vending machines here are endless. It seems like you can walk past them forever and that's the coolness about Japan. They've just taken a simple vending machine and made it accessible for everyone. And you can literally buy almost anything under the sun. Subscribe for new videos every week: https://www.youtube.com/c/ChasingTheS... Share this video: • Millions of vending machines in Japan.
