The story of Gomer, in the book of Hosea, offers one of the clearest allegories of prophetic truth to be found in the Old Testament. Believe it or not, God told Hosea to marry a prostitute. She bore him two sons and a daughter. As was her nature, she eventually left her husband for the bright lights and shady nights. Finally, she became destitute and was sold as a slave. Hosea went to the slave market and bought her back. She is a type (picture of) Israel and Hosea is a type (picture of) God. The story has a happy ending . It is prophetic of the coming kingdom age - the 1,000 year reign of Christ on earth after the coming seven years of judgment upon earth after the rapture. The names of Gomer and Hosea's offspring hold clues and a clear picture of the end times, including world war 3 or Armageddon.
