Coolio, the famous rapper who rose to fame in the 1990s with hit songs like "Gangsta's Paradise" and "Fantastic Voyage," died last year due to a fentanyl overdose, according to his former longtime manager, Jarez Posey. Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., died at the age of 59 at a friend's home in Los Angeles on September 28, 2022. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death as accidental and identified cardiomyopathy as a "significant condition" that played a role. Coolio won a Grammy award for best solo rap performance for his hit song "Gangsta's Paradise" in 1995. He was also a cultural icon, providing a voice for an animated show and creating the theme music for a Nickelodeon sitcom.
