GOP Senators Slam "Soft on Crime" Nominee for Federal Bench

February 16, 2022 - During a hearing on judicial nominees, Republican Senators on the committee tore into the nominee for the Federal Bench for the Eastern District of New York. Nina Morrison was repeatedly drilled for her writings and statements which the Republicans said, suggested she was more pro-criminal than pro-law enforcement. Sen Hawley of Missouri said he could not support her and noted Morrison's previous support for St Louis District Attorney, Kim Gardner, who failed to charge 36 individuals with ANY crime, after they were arrested during the 2020 riots in St. Louis in which a former police officer was murdered.
