Top trace = 100Mb send TX DV, 2nd trace = Gb receive, RX DV 3rd trace = Gb send TX DV, bottom trace = 100Mb RX DV The duration of the active high DV signals = packet size. This video show the switch running continuously with no hang or freeze with one 100Mb port & one Gb port both sending & receiving packets. Trigger is either the 100Mb send or the Gb send. The 100Mb send & the Gb receive are in sync since the packets are related. The Gb send & the 100Mb receive are in synce since the packets are related. Otherwise the 100Mb & Gb packet transfers are asynchronous. The store & forward nature of the switch can be seen in the gap, which is about the length of the packets, between the packet entering the switch, TX DV and exiting the switch, RX DV. A long duration 100Mb packet is converted into a short duration Gb packet. Likewise, a short duration Gb packet is converted into a long duration 100Mb packet.
