In the early hours of D-Day, Sgt. Barnes parachutes behind enemy lines as part of Operation Neptune, the airborne counterpart to Operation Overlord. Unfortunately, his squad is scattered by German anti-air fire, stranding him far from his intended landing zone. Fighting and avoiding German patrols, Barnes attempts to regroup with other elements of the 501st, but instead meets up with three British paratroopers of the British 6th Airborne Division, and agrees to help them complete their mission. The team encounter a Tiger I tank, which Barnes takes out with a German anti-aircraft gun. They proceed to neutralize and destroy two artillery emplacements, then track down and kill a Nazi officer (Col. Hildebrandt) in charge of the military operations in the area. Finally, they pick up a supply drop of explosives and destroy a strategically important bridge, preventing German supplies and reinforcements from reaching the beaches at Normandy.
