Must Try Restaurant Baguio: Good Taste Restaurant and Cafe | Tsinoy Comfort Food | Cheap Eats Baguio. Good Taste is a legendary must visit Chinese Filipino restaurant and cafe in Baguio founded by Alfredo Go in the 1980's. It is famous throughout northern Luzon for budget friendly Tsinoy comfort food with large serving sizes. They have 2 branches in Baguio which is supplied by their own poultry, hog and vegetable farms. Today we visit their main branch at Rajah Matanda street close to Session Road which brings you back in time as it feels and looks like it has not been renovated in decades but don't be shocked that's part of its charm. Usually there would be huge lines of guests from all walks of life trying to get a seat 24/7, but during the current pandemic, business has slowed down giving us the perfect opportunity to sample their dishes with the least amount of waiting time. The interiors are surprisingly spacious but dull and spartan with plastic seats and a few booths with city views, but in any case we did not come here for ambiance we came solely to appreciate what Baguio residents have been raving about. From their bright and colorful 2 page menu we would highly recommend specialty dishes like their Garlic Buttered Chicken, Crispy Pata, Pata Tim, Halabos na Hipon, Beef Ampalaya, Beef Broccoli, Chopsuey, Pansit, Sinigang na Hipon, Beef Lomi with Quail Egg and Fried Rice. If you are dining solo you can choose from their diverse selection of combo meals for less than PHP 150.00 or $US 3.00.
