Circus Freakshow Display @ Wild Time Comics - Halloween Comicfest 2021
Recorded on Saturday, October 9th, 2021: Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of uploads recently, been a very busy few weeks and getting content has been had since a lot of stores including Spirit are very low on stock of things right now. Hope to get a lot more out soon though! This past Saturday we had the grand reopening/ Halloween Comicfest event at the new Wild Time Comics location. It's super bittersweet to say goodbye to the old building where my family's store has been for the past 20+ years, but this new building is nice too and only a number of storefronts down from where it used to be in the same plaza. With no "official" national Halloween Comicfest event this year, we decided to celebrate our own on the grand reopening of the new shop! This year for the animatronic display I did another clown/circus theme (one of my favorite themes to do.) I focused more on the freakshow aspect of the circus this year, so not only was there clowns like Uncle Charlie (with a 2010 head I got for him), Clowning Around, Harriet Hustle, and others, there were also additional circus or freak character animatronics such as Candy Creep, Mr. Dark, Reaper of Souls, and Bone Collector. For the theme itself I used parts of Spirit's Reaper's Island Village including 2 tiki huts that I put carnival tent tops on. (Meant to put up the others but didn't have the time.) We also had a small licensed section consisting of Beetlejuice, Shorty, and a modified Jack Skellington. Overall I think it came out pretty decent, and I'm happy we got to do something cool for the grand reopening. As always a big thanks to all of our volunteers and staff that helped out with making all this possible, as well as everyone who stopped by during the day! Also a big thanks to my friends Kyle (Haunt Channel), Shane (HicksHaunter), Brendan (Hauntabulous), and Chris (Halloween Fan 101) for helping out a ton with setting stuff up and breaking stuff down for the display and for bringing some of their own stuff to contribute.
