Unlike Khotun Khan, The Eagle is not just a warlord but also a spiritual leader who uses a mix of psychological warfare and hallucinogenic poisons to subjugate her enemies. Jin travels to Iki, only to be captured and poisoned by The Eagle, who forces him to experience terrifying visions of his past. As he fights off the effects of the poison, Jin also faces the reality of Iki’s deep-seated hatred for samurai, rooted in his father’s failed invasion of the island years ago. Since Jin’s father, Kazumasa Sakai, led a brutal campaign against the islanders, they now see Jin as an enemy rather than a savior.
