This is my first attempt at winter camping in a hot tent at Mew Lake, Algonquin Provincial Park. I have plenty of backcountry camping experience in the warmer months, but this was a challenge! ðĨ Watch the full solo journey + more in my playlist: Epic Camping Adventures (   âĒ Epic Camping Adventures  ) Although it did not go perfectly, I still enjoyed every minute of this new outdoor adventure. Thankfully, my first time was at a hydro site so that I can use my heaters if need be, and they were certainly needed this time! There is a huge amount of planning involved, from investing in the right winter gear, to finding accessible or available locations, to prepping enough high calorie meals. Being prepared and taking all safety precautions will make all the difference for a more comfortable and pleasant experience. No doubt, it is a lot of work, and you have to educate yourself on the risks, as it can become a life or death situation pretty quickly. For me, the reward is well worth the effort. Being in nature is so therapeutic, and pushing through challenges gives a great sense of accomplishment, not to mention that it makes you feel so alive and present in the moment. I will absolutely be back for more, improving with practice and investing in even better gear to make the experience that much more enjoyable. If you have any questions about the gear I use, or have any advise, feel free to respectfully comment below. Thank you so much for watching, stay tuned for more all weather camping adventures!
