Sketchy Spotlight on Paul Ryan Ep. 3 - Giant Purple Planet Eater

The New England Nerd Presents: Sketchy Spotlight on Paul Ryan Giant Purple Planet Eater Galactus was filmed on September 12th 2015 during Granite State Comic-Con located at The Radisson Center in Manchester New Hampshire. This is my last sketch video with the New England native Paul Ryan filmed just a few months prior to his sudden passing in March. He was one of the earliest videos I made (pre-sketchy) and it was his first time being filmed drawing if I recall correctly. Paul was a bit nervous at first unsure of how he would look on camera. After the video was posted he messaged me saying it may sound strange but he was fascinated with watching the sketch come together as much of his focus was usually on his hand. He had never viewed it from the client perspective. It was about this time that I had decided to take my films a step further which resulted in the videos I post today, giving the client a view from the artists perspective. I feel fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to revisit Paul Ryan under the new Sketchy title and to have picked up not one but two sketches in the two days given. I did not know him well but he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy and much more concerned for the health of his cat then anything else. I wish he could have had the chance to see this last one.
