Ender 3 control knob stopped working (Update - now works, read description)

*EDIT* I managed to fry my skr board (wire shorted on the extruder) so i swapped back to the original creality motherboard. Now the controlknob works fine again, so if you have this issue, give that a try. My thoughts are that some connection on the SKR board had been damaged at some point. The issue came out of nowhere, printer was on and working fine, came back 5 minutes later and the rotary encoder stopped working. The button works, but when i rotate the knob to scroll through the menu it doesn't register. Things i have done: I reseated the ribbon cable in both the lcd and on the mainboard to check for a proper connection. It is connected in EXP-3 as always. Tried connecting the new LCD with the old cable Tried connecting the new LCD with the new cable So it would seem that i bought a new LCD for nothing :( Additional info: I have the BTT SKR mini v1.2 mainboard flashed with [custom firmware](https://gumroad.com/l/HFxSQ) for bltouch.
