Just gotta say wow, I didn't expect to make top 10 at this match considering my very limited carbine experience. Super Squad 2022 here I come! This was by far the most technically challenging match I've shot. With the target difficulty and the unforgiving penalties, it was about surviving. I performed on 10 stages but gave away 40 seconds in penalties on Stage 3 alone. Those 30+ yard clay pigeons got to me, and the frustration led me to completely pass over two of them that blended in with the dirt. That hurt, but I finished strong the rest of the match. I had a really good time shooting this weekend, but it's back to shooting open only and putting what I learned in JJ Racaza's class to practice. Again, a huge shout out to Hoover Tactical Firearms for their support. National level matches are costly, and if not for their support I would not have attended this match. I initially signed up for fun and to make a showing with my teammate Alex Joiner, and now I'm so glad that I did. Thanks HTF!
