Driver dies after crashing into tree, Elk Grove police say

A driver died Monday night after crashing into a tree in Elk Grove, causing road closures, officials said. According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the crash was reported around 8:05 p.m. on Elk Grove Boulevard at Interstate 5. For reasons unknown, the driver, who was traveling northbound, veered off toward the center median and hit the tree.
