RUSSELL HAWK OF VALLEJO DIES IN TRAGIC HIT-AND-RUN CRASH NEAR SONOMA BOULEVARD [VALLEJO, CA]

Vallejo, CA (October 19, 2023) On Tuesday afternoon, 76-year-old Russell Hawk of Vallejo was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Sonoma Boulevard. According to the Vallejo Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Carolina Street. Reports say that an officer tried to pull over a reckless driver on a speeding vehicle, however, the suspect driver did not stop, instead ran through 2 stop signs and ultimately crashed into 2 parked vehicles. Officials say that the collision caused one car to be pushed into another car, Hawk, who was standing between both vehicles at the time, was crushed between both vehicles. Medics rushed Hawk to a hospital, however the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Meanwhile, the suspect driver fled on foot and is currently at large, Officers found a firearm in his vehicle. Police are investigating the fatal crash.
