Titan sub wreckage found after "catastrophic implosion" near Titanic: US Coast Guard | FULL

The U.S. Coast Guard says a debris field found by searchers near the Titanic shipwreck on Thursday is wreckage from the missing Titan submersible and that it was consistent with a "catastrophic implosion" of the vessel. OceanGate said in its own statement the five crew members onboard “have sadly been lost.” "There doesn't appear to be any connection between the noises and the location on the seafloor. Again, this was a catastrophic implosion of the vessel, which would have generated a significant broadband sound down there that the sonobuoys have picked up," Rear Admiral John Mauger told a news conference on Thursday. A search will continue at the site of the debris field to gather information on how and when the implosion of the pressure chamber occurred, and the prospect of recovering the crew. Five people were onboard Titan: a British billionaire adventurer, a wealthy Pakistani businessman and his son, a French explorer and the CEO of OceanGate.
