35,805 new COVID-19 cases reported as of 9PM on Monday; numbers doubling

'확진자 급증' 오후 9시까지 이미 3만명 넘어…전주의 2.1배 COVID-19 returns as our top story this morning after a couple quiet months... with it back on an upward trend in South Korea,... as more than 30-thousand new COVID-19 cases have already been confirmed as of 9 PM Monday. A total of 35-thousand-8-hundred-5 new cases were reported which is almost three times the figure announced at the same time the day before. It is the first time in around eight weeks the figure has surpassed the 30-thousand mark. The number is twice last Monday's 9 PM tally and almost four times more than two weeks before,... clearly indicating a 'doubling' of cases. To deal with the uptick,... South Korea launched an advisory committee to deal with the pandemic on Monday. The team of experts held their first meeting under the Yoon administration, which has pledged to devise "science-based" quarantine measures. Participants discussed ways to better respond to the resurgence of the virus in the summer. They emphasized the need to focus on minimizing the number of deaths and to protect those at high risk by strengthening the nation's medical system. Health authorities believe Korea is in a new wave of the virus and are set to make an announcement on preventive measures this Wednesday. #COVID19 #Coronavirus #SouthKorea 📣 Arirang News(Facebook) :   / arirangtvnews   📣 Arirang News(Twitter) :   / arirangtvnews   📣 News Center(YouTube) :    / newscenter_arirangtv   2022-07-12, 08:00 (KST)
