Fatal Head-On Crash / Victorville 12.3.19

VICTORVILLE - A head-on traffic collision late Monday night in Victorville has resulted in at least one fatality. The accident occurred around 10:45 PM in the 16300 block of D Street, just west of the I-15. The accident occurred in the westbound lanes when a minivan traveling eastbound went the wrong direction in the westbound lanes and struck a pick up truck. Arriving paramedics pronounced one victim deceased on scene. A second victim reportedly was receiving CPR at the scene. D Street is a major commuter route that connects parts of Victorville and Apple Valley to the I-15. D Street will be closed for an extended period of time as the SBSO Major Accident Investigation Team conducts their investigation. The area of the accident has been part of a major Caltrans project.
