ABOUT THIS SERIES: For centuries the nodes of the Moon 'Rahu' and 'Ketu' have baffled Vedic astrologers in terms of the results they give in their 'mahadasha' and 'antardasha'. In fact, when it comes to analyzing their influence in a person's life from the perspective of transits, it becomes even more tricky as there doesn't really seem to be a consensus on how to look at and understand at their impact. I have spent a lot of years reading, writing and researching on the topic of the 'nodes' and have been lucky to have received a lot of love and recognition for the same. In this series, I seek to share this knowledge with my viewers along with a very unique perspective that will not only help you understand the energy of the nodes but also how to channel that energy to fulfill your life purpose. With each episode, we shall be studying the impact of the North node and South node of the Moon via placements in the natal chart, 'Navamsha' (D-9), 'Dashamasha'(D-10), 'Shashtiamsha' (D-60) and transits. I will expand into the other divisional charts as well but let's hope and aim to fulfill the primary objectives first. ABOUT KETU IN FIRST HOUSE in birth chart Whenever you have the South node of the Moon 'Ketu' in the first house of the birth chart, that shows us that one of the primary objectives of your soul in this lifetime is learning how to 'let go' and 'look within'. This is the placement of a 'peaceful warrior' who retains the drive, focus and tenacity of a warrior but is here in this lifetime to learn and walk the path of love and peace. You know the kind of people who are often 'naive' and simple in the early years and grow up to be hyper independent and strong? These people have strong 'Ketu' placements by virtue of placements of the Moon in 'nakshatras' of 'Ketu' or important influences of 'Ketu' on the ascendant. The most prominent precursor for such a growth trajectory in life however, is 'Ketu' in the first house. The South node in the first house however, is often looked at by many astrologers as a bad and difficult placement in terms of its 'negative' impact on the native's health and self awarness. Most astrologers are quick to misinterpret this placement and demotivate the native wrt ita significations. That's because 'Ketu' is depicted as a headless planet and most people misconstrue the symbolism as 'Ketu' being a dumb planet. Reality is that its headless nature is so depicted to portray the importance of tapping in to the psychic and intuitive side of life with this placement. Thr biggest challenge with this placement is 'self doubt'.
