The Perfect Day Arches National Park WITHOUT Crowds

The Perfect Day Arches National Park WITHOUT Crowds

Yes, you can visit Arches in a day and avoid most of the crowds. This one-day Arches National Park itinerary is designed to let you see the hottest spots in the park with the fewest people, then head to some secret spots during the busy parts of the day. Here’s some additional information so you can plan the best day ever in Arches! Arches is the ancestral homeland of the Ute, Navajo, Hopi, and Paiute people. Keep in mind that native histories are nuanced and there are many claims to this ancient land. Do your part and learn some native history. Antiquities and relics of the past can be found all over Moab, Utah. It is a federal offense to deface, take, or ruin any of these precious windows into the past. Look with your eyes and take only photographs. Dogs are not welcome in Arches National Park. They must remain on pavement and in vehicles. Given the harsh weather of the desert, I don’t advise bringing Fido with you. Drones are not allowed in Arches National Park. Leave your drones at home. Rule number 1 when visiting the desert is DON’T BUST THE CRUST! That weird, raised, bumpy soil you see is alive. It’s called cryptobiotic soil and it is an integral part of preventing erosion and allowing for plant life to thrive in the desert. It is fragile and stepping on it will ruin years of development. Stay on marked trails when possible. If you do venture into the backcountry, pay attention to where you’re walking. Camp and walk on hard surfaces where possible. You’ll pass some toilets and a picnic area. Take your first right onto a dirt road. It’s about a 5-minute drive down this 4x4 road (has a couple of rugged spots depending on conditions) until you reach a signed pullout for Eye of the Whale. Follow the trail for about 5 minutes to the arch. There is Instagram and there is reality. And you should be inspired by BOTH. I intentionally use photos and videos that have been edited for color and lighting, and ones that haven’t. All the photos and videos you see of Moab, Utah were taken by me. I rarely edit other people out of photos (and I would make a note here if I did!). ✨Time stamps: 00:00 - Intro 00:14 - how much time to spend in Arches 00:22 - What to pack 00:37 - Delicate Arch 01:02 - Landscape Arch 01:14 - Fiery Furnace hike 01:39 - Hike to a SECRET arch! 01:50 - Drive to another SECRET arch 02:08 - Arches Scenic Drive and the Windows 02:20 - Sunset spots in Arches 02:29 - outro 02:49 - outtakes
