In this episode we’ll discuss the implications of Whatsapp’s new policies on the privacy of a user WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging app, has updated its privacy policy and users have until February 8 to accept the new terms and conditions. The new policy has come into discussion on the issue of how user data is impacted given its integration with another social media major Facebook, which also happens to be WhatsApp’s parent company. Clarifying on the issue, the whatsapp said that the privacy policy does not change the way WhatsApp treats personal chats. In a statement, WhatsApp said: “The update does not change WhatsApp’s data sharing practices with Facebook and does not impact how people communicate privately with friends or family WhatsApp remains deeply committed to protecting people’s privacy.” But, what are the apprehensions on the point of view of privacy and how does it impact our data.
