I wanted to get out over the Christmas Break and head down to Charleston and fish the Wando River. I was an over cast day when I pull off Paradise Landing and started my drift. It was a falling tide and I decided to work the grass lines and docks today. The day started fast. I was using a Penn battle on a 6’6” Extreme Inshore rod Medium fast action, on a 3/16 oz Texas eye, Zman MinnowZ in Color Moodring (Purple two tone color). On the fourth cast, I hooked up a small Spotted Sea Trout. I threw up toward the dock and he slammed it. I drifted down and continued to work the Grass lines and oyster beds when a Redfish decided to play. At first I thought it was another Trout but soon realized it was a redfish when I netted him. Once I got the hook out of him was decided he was not going to get his picture taken as he flopped back into the Wando River. As it came to be, that would be my last bite and fish of the day. I foshed for the next 4 hours working docks, deep pools, grass lines and oyster beds, but still came up empty. I love the Wando River. I will be back.
