Shreyanka Patil is also coming off a long injury layoff and she too may not start for the title holders. Youngsters Shreyanka Patil and Kanika Ahuja are also there along with experienced campaigners like Asha Shobana and Ekta Bisht. An injury ruled Asha Shobana out of the tournament and as her replacement, RCB have signed wicketkeeper-batter Nuzhat Parween. Gujarat Giants had let go of seven players, including three overseas, ahead of the player auction. They released Kathryn Bryce, Lauren Cheatle, Lea Tahuhu, Sneh Rana, Tarannum Pathan, Trisha Poojitha and Veda Krishnamurthy. They added four players during the auction. The Gujarat-based franchise got 'World Boss' Deandra Dottin and English all-rounder Danielle Gibson. They also added two Indian players, Prakashika Naik and Simran Shaikh. Shaikh was the most expensive buy of this year's auction. She was roped in for a whopping 1.9 crores by the Giants. Giants also made a change in the leadership, appointing Ashleigh Gardner as skipper. In the previous edition, Beth Mooney was the captain for the Gujarat-based franchise.
