Las Vegas Attorney Stephen Stubbs Arrested (Again) for Refusing to Leave His Client

Recently, Stephen Stubbs was arrested (for the second time) for telling one of his clients that they shouldn't answer questions from the police. This "crime" was deemed to be "obstructing a police officer", even though it's a lawyer's job to advise their clients of their constitutional rights when they are being questioned by the police. (It's also not illegal to advise people of their rights, even if you aren't a lawyer. - https://nvcopblock.org/154494/talking...) Stubbs is an attorney in the Las Vegas, Nevada area, as well as an executive producer for the documentary "What Happened In Vegas." He's pretty well known locally, especially within the biker community, for representing people against the police when they've been falsely arrested and/or had their rights violated. Several incidents in which the police have attempted to retaliate against him have also gotten a lot of attention. One of those incidents, which was originally reported on by Nevada Cop Block (NVCopBlock.org) - https://nvcopblock.org/1159/attorney-... - was when then Sgt. Yesenia Yatomi illegally ordered Stubbs to leave while she and other members of the LVMPD Gang Unit questioned one of his clients (a member of the Bikers For Christ Las Vegas motorcycle club) during a traffic stop. He, of course, refused and was (falsely) arrested for "obstruction." Fortunately for him however, someone filmed the arrest -    • Attorney Stephen Stubbs Arrested   - and he was exonerated in court - https://nvcopblock.org/117682/las-veg... - without even having to present a defense. In the process, it was revealed that Yesenia Yatomi had committed perjury by rewriting a second police report with delibierate inaccuracies in an attempt to justify her false arrest of Stubbs. Instead of being prosecuted for the actual crime of perjury (which she had in fact committed), Yesenia Yatomi has since been promoted twice - https://nvcopblock.org/173472/update-... - to her current rank of Captain. That includes being placed in charge of the internal affairs bureau (the department that investigates misconduct, such as perjury, by police officers) when she was promoted to lieutenant. Currently, she is the commander of the entire LVMPD Bolden Area Command. In this excerpt from ACAB Radio Las Vegas Podcast Episode #20 - Full show:    • ACAB Radio Las Vegas Podcast Episode 20   - the hosts discussed the most recent arrest and how it's basically the same exact situation as the original incident. We also speculated, based on Yatomi's meteoric rise at Metro, that arresting Stephen Stubbs might actually be a pretty good career move at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. In fact when you look at the history of the "leadership" at Metro, it's actually hard to not conclude that being corrupt and even an outright criminal - https://nvcopblock.org/173654/rotting... - is beneficial to a Las Vegas area cop's career path. It's almost like they're purposely looking for people that are willing to lie and make false arrests.
