Hearing Health Foundation's Hearing Restoration Project is the first international consortium of scientists to investigate regenerating inner ear hair cells to treat and cure hearing loss and tinnitus. HRP scientific director Lisa Goodrich, Ph.D., and consortium member Ronna Hertzano, M.D., Ph.D., discuss the biology of inner ear hair cell regeneration, the HRP’s current work, and the direction of future research. Goodrich and Hertzano provide a broad overview of the techniques and tools central to the effort—including those developed by HRP scientists—and some of the challenges facing researchers in this endeavor. The Hearing Health Foundation research webinar series is moderated by Anil K. Lalwani, M.D., the head of HHF’s Council of Scientific Trustees, which oversees the Emerging Research Grants program, and a member of HHF’s board, Lalwani is the chief of the division of otology, neurology, and skull base surgery; the vice chair for research, otolaryngology–head and neck surgery; and associate dean for student research at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University. Learn about the latest developments in research on hearing loss, tinnitus, and related conditions, as told by members of our Emerging Research Grants alumni community.
