The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 2 - All Act 1-1 Bosses

All of the quest, storyline and trial chest bosses from the first part of Act 1. Act 1 you ask? Indeed! Rather than telling its story in chapters like CS1 this game ops to ue through Acts which consist of multiple parts. Act 1-1 starts you off with Rean and Toval but later on Machias, Fie and Elliott will join the party which will give you a much needed secondary melee attacker, one of the best mages in the game and the still really good Evasion Tank. The first boss is a rehash of what you fought in Chapter 1 in the first game (and won't be the last familiar foe you see in this game) but this time you don't have a full party. Anyone playing on the PS4 Pro will also have to deal with slowdown/frame rate issues due to the bug involving particle effects in areas like this. Thankfully you just have only the boss and this time around the worst he can do is inflict Seal on your party. You gain access to Overdrives however which can be used to deal some hefty damage. Keep your HP up and just beat it down with melee and arts. You don't have enough tools to do any elaborate strategies yet. Up next is a rather easy boss. Just use Toval's S-Break to wipe out the grunts, equip blind proof items on Rean/Machias and go to town. New to this game are Trial Chests and I am including them in these videos as they contain some potentially challenging fight setups with unique enemies that you have to scan or will be unable to complete the monster book. For this one you will need to have anti faint items equipped as the main boss can inflict it and cause things to spiral out of control. Have Elliot buff your team and use Machias' S-Break when the enemies eventually group themselves together. His Petrify Shell attack also has a wide range which can be useful for whittling HP down. This one's a bit easier if you have Fie act as bait so she can counter spam while Elliot heals. Use Sweep to thin out their numbers and follow up with Scud Reaper for easy unbalances. The last Trial Chest of the chapter has you up against some pretty durable enemies with your two non mage characters. The enemies however will barely be able to touch Fie due to her evasion and by doing so will clump together for Machias to pick off. Admittedly speaking he should have a Heat Wave quartz equipped to do more damage than his melee attacks while Fie spams sweep. The main boss of Terra Shrine can hit your entire team and inflict poison and petrify so have items on hand that can remove them while you have Elliott ad Toval present while Rean and Fie gang up on one boss at a time. If a crit turn comes up, use Toval's S-Craft since it hits everything on the screen. This next fight is technically unwinnable BUT like Estelle vs the Jaegers in SC you can earn extra AP by actually trying to win. You mainly have to reduce one of the bosses HP to 30% or below within 40 turns which if you aren't paying attention to the flow of the fight can go by faster than you think. Xeno will set bombs on the field that you MUST scan if you want that monster trophy and has the lower HP between the two so concentrate on him. Be mindful that these guys hit pretty hard and will use their S-Breaks once at 50% HP. These can deal between 4-7k damage to your team! Once you've met the condition the battle will end. Another Divine Knight battle! This one introduces multiple targets but it doesn't matter which one you take on. You just need to punch it enough until you take its sword and the real fight begins. This last Divine Knight battle is easy as it serves as an introduction to how CSII expands the combat. Your Classmates (and Sara) have the ability to help out in battle with their own commands and whoever you finish the fight with will gain extra LP. Once again you'll want to focus on one enemy at a time and with your sword you can cut them down pretty quickly. Use your partner to keep your HP and EP up and you'll be fine.
