Govt. jobs to medal winners will be the true tribute to Major Dhyan Chand on National Sports Day.:- Shiv Sena Jammu: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has demanded on National Sports Day to fulfill its promises of giving government jobs to medal winners and handsome cash prize to medal winners on the lines of other states. In a press conference held today at the party's state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that while some states are encouraging players under the "Medal Lao, Naukri Pao" scheme, medal winners of Jammu and Kashmir are waiting for jobs for the last 11 years (after 2014). Under the new sports policy, the Department of Youth, Services and Sports and the Sports Council implemented the new job quota SO 12 instead of SRO 349. Under which 235 outstanding players of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir were to be appointed under the sports quota. At the same time, appointments of 25 outstanding players in government departments were promised every year. Our champions, who have brought pride to the country and Jammu and Kashmir with their hard work, have been struggling with financial crisis for a long time without government jobs. Appeals have also been made to the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister. The wait for relief is getting longer and longer. After 2014, no outstanding player was given a government job. Sahni said that in the recently held 'Khelo India Water Sports Festival 2025' at Dal Lake, athletes from ordinary backgrounds of Jammu and Kashmir won a total of four medals including one gold, two silver and one bronze medal and secured seventh position among 28 participating states and union territories. Sahni said that National Sports Day is celebrated every year on the birth anniversary of Hockey Magician Major Dhyan Chand. Major Dhyan Chand Singh also belonged to an ordinary family. Government jobs and economic improvement to our medal winners will be the true tribute to Major Dhyan Chand on National Sports Day. On this occasion Sanjeev Kohli (Working President) , Nathpal Chowdhury (Sr Vice president) , Zarnal Singh(Vice president) and Jasbir Singh were present. Box Stop the indiscriminate development of Hindu pilgrimage sites: Shiv Sena Jammu: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit has demanded to curb the indiscriminate development of Hindu religious sites. In a special conversation with journalists at the party's state central office, state chief Manish Sahni said that in the recent past, the havoc of weather is not stopping in many states including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand. During this time, accidents have also increased at Hindu pilgrimage sites. Talking about Jammu and Kashmir, the landslide incident on Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Yatra route on 26 August 2025 (in which 35 devotees died), the cloudburst incident in Chasoti village of Kishtwar on Machail Mata route on 14 August 2025 (60 people died), the disappearance of the Holy Shivlingam in the first week during the Shri Amarnath Yatra, the cloudburst incident near the Amarnath Holy cave in 2022, are indicative warnings on indiscriminate development at religious places. Sahni said that he is not against facilities and development but indiscriminate development of pilgrimage sites as picnic spots and tampering with the mythological nature of the pilgrimage is inviting natural disasters.
