The idea for this compilation came from Afrobeat party series Family Affairs Cologne that is run by Switchstance Recordings founder and owner Tom Strauch in Cologne / Germany. DANZI DANZI, which is African slang for heavy dancing, is the theme of those parties. On top, the cover shot was taken on one of those nights. So speaking of DANZI DANZI, the focus of this compilation is on heavy dancing. It´s a selection of the 20 most danceable songs from the Switchstance catalogue by the label´s main artists Ancient Astronauts, Deela, Kabanjak and Protassov. While the compilation is mostly instrumental, illustrious names such as The Jungle Brothers or Sitali (Thievery Corporation) stand out, adding an extra dose of unique vocals and message to the rhythms and grooves on this album.
